At the spot of cutting off outer cover of the medium and high voltage cable, when putting in terminals and joints, the high voltage fields concentrate at that region. The field concentration becomes dangerous and leads to partial discharge, insulation aging, and at the worst case insulation breakdown if only the stress control method cannot meet the demand. Not only that, it also causes the failure of accessories for cables, the necessity for frequent maintenance, and power outages.
We solve this problem by using heat shrinkable polymer materials with semi-conducting functional fillers. After being cut and heated, it firmly sticks to the outer shield of the cable and creates a continuous stress control layer that is stable and smooth. In so doing, it effectively reduces the localized electric field, thereby minimizing the risk of both partial discharge and insulation breakdown, while also distributing the field more evenly over the surface of the insulation.

Stress Control Sleeves:
These are heat-shrink films that can be physically reduced as needed, commonly utilized in electrical cable fittings with a high-voltage range, terminations, and insulation transition areas. They serve mainly to even out the electric field distribution, relax stress in high concentration areas, and lower the threats associated with the partial discharge and insulation breakdown phenomena. The stress controlled heat shrink tube is composed of a heat-shrinkable thermoplastic polymer containing semi-conductive functional fillers.
