One problem of long-term operation of cables is that the outer sheath is gradually damaged through mechanical wear, installation damage, UV aging, and complex environmental conditions, which leads to the invasion of water, dust, and corrosive substances inside the cable, leading to the degradation of insulation performance and possibly causing extended downtime along with an increase in maintenance and replacement costs.
Our cable repair sleeve is made with high-performance cross-linked polyolefin material that, via the heat shrinking process, wraps tightly around a damaged cable area so as to form a highly sealing protective layer. It works so well that in many cases it can completely restore the cable's insulation, waterproofing, and mechanical protection properties thereby prolonging its life.
Introduction to the Heat Shrink Repair Sleeve:
This cable accessory is used for repairing the cable sheath and its insulation, and sealing. It is composed of cross-linked polyolefin, and its advantages include superior insulation and resistance to harsh weather and climate. When installing this sleeve, one uses a hot air gun through which the heating of the sleeve leads to contraction of its size until it tightly covers and protects the cable. The cable heat shrink repair sleeve, after heating and shrinking, strongly sticks to the cable surface and creates a waterproof and dustproof sealed protective layer. That protects the cable from moisture and other environmental factors. Its water absorption rate is ≤0.1% (ISO 62), which means it hardly absorbs water at all, that is the best possible condition for the prevention of water penetration. Also, the eccentricity of the sleeve is ≤30% (ASTM-D-2671), which means, it will have even shrinkage so a tighter sealing will occur.

For installation, we simply need the application of heat through devices such as a hot air gun. Therefore, no complicated machinery nor the involvement of skilled workers is a requisite, making it ideal for the quick onsite repairs as well as the repair of cables confined in small areas. The longitudinal shrinkage of the goods is ≤10% (ASTM-D-2671), and the alteration in size after heating is predictable which results in ease of accurate setting and installation and also a decrease in adjustment problems.
