1. What pretreatment is required for the cold shrink cable joint for power cable before installation?
The outside plastic layer, the metal shield, and the inner insulation layer of the cable need to be carefully stripped according to the required standards. The layer of insulation should be wiped down and buffed in order to make it perfectly smooth and the size of it should match with the requirement for the joint. None of the materials need to be primed especially before you begin the installation.
2. How to ensure the insulation reliability of the cold shrink cable joint for power cable during long-term operation?
The silicone rubber material has excellent dielectric strength and anti-tracking properties. Combined with constant radial shrinkage pressure, it can eliminate interfacial air gaps. At the same time, the stress cone structure can effectively disperse electric field concentration and delay the aging process.
