Power Plant Overview
Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant is a joint project between the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM), representing one of the largest technical and economic cooperation projects between China and Russia to date. The plant is planned to house eight units; the first four utilize Russian VVER-1000 technology, while subsequent units incorporate the more advanced VVER-1200 technology. Since commencing operations, the plant has maintained an excellent safety record and received high praise during multiple peer reviews by the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), ranking among the top nuclear power plants in China in terms of comprehensive performance indicators.
Scope of Supply
From 2021 to 2022, our company supplied nuclear-grade heat-shrinkable cable terminations and joints for the operating units at the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant. Our services encompassed inspection, maintenance, and partial modification projects for cable circuits across the nuclear island, conventional island, and Balance of Plant (BOP) systems. The scope covered a range of voltage levels—from low-voltage control cables to medium-voltage power cables—thereby meeting the diverse requirements of the plant's various functional areas.
