Power Plant Overview
Located in Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province, the Hainan Nuclear Power Plant is invested in, constructed, and operated by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). It is China's first nuclear power plant built in a tropical marine climate and serves as vital clean energy infrastructure for Hainan Province. Phase I of the project involved the construction of two 650-megawatt-class pressurized water reactor (PWR) units (CNP650), which entered commercial operation between 2015 and 2016; Phase II plans to add two megawatt-class units, further expanding Hainan Province's clean energy supply capacity. The plant's long-term exposure to a hot and humid tropical climate places stringent demands on the environmental adaptability of its electrical equipment and accessories.
Scope of Supply
In 2025, the company supplied nuclear-grade heat-shrinkable cable terminations and joints to the Hainan Nuclear Power Plant. These products are used for the maintenance and retrofit of cable systems for the plant's operational units, covering circuits of various voltage levels across both the nuclear island and the conventional island, thereby ensuring reliable cable accessory support for the plant's continued safe and stable operation.
