The cable termination set in this kit employs highly resistant material made from cross-linked polyolefin (XLPO) and provides stress-control tube that helps electric field distribution becomes homogeneous. With this, the risk of the electric arc, and therefore insulation breakdown, is reduced.The product also withstood the 117 kV power-frequency withstand voltage test (5 minutes), 104 kV power-frequency withstand voltage test (4 hours) and ±200 kV lightning impulse withstand voltage tests (10 each for positive and negative). No breakdown or flashover took place during testing.
2. Superior sealing and protective performance, suitable for complex operating conditions.
The termination after heat shrinking tightly holds the cable end with minimum movement providing you with a durable layer which offers the necessary insulation, sealing and mechanical protection. It works very well in moisture, dust and dirt ingress prevention and it offers a high resistance against humidity, weathering and corrosion. The product has successfully gone through the 104 kV wet withstand voltage test and three-cycle thermal cycle (conductor temperature 95-100°C); all post-test checks have been carried out and no cracks or damage in any parts have been found which has proved that it is quite suitable for outdoor and industrial use under highly humid and hot conditions.
