Supply Project for Heat-Shrinkable Tubing for Nuclear Power Plants
Project Background
The Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant in Fujian is a key nuclear power base in China. Located in Fuqing City, Fujian Province, it is operated and managed by China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Its Units 5 and 6 utilize "Hualong One" (HPR1000)—a third-generation nuclear power technology independently developed by China. As the first commercial demonstration projects for this technology in the country, they hold significant strategic importance and demonstration value. Thanks to its advanced design featuring both active and passive safety systems, "Hualong One" meets the highest international nuclear safety standards; consequently, the quality requirements for the associated equipment and materials are extremely rigorous.
Project Scope
In 2019, our company successfully won the bid and undertook the project to supply Class K3 heat-shrinkable cable termination sleeves for Units 5 and 6 of the Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant. Class K3 cable accessories are used for cable connections and terminal insulation protection within the plant's conventional island and auxiliary systems. Although not classified as nuclear safety-grade equipment, their operational reliability directly impacts the stable power supply of auxiliary systems and the overall operational safety of the plant; consequently, they must comply with the nuclear industry's rigorous market entry standards and quality management requirements.
